Parag Chatterjee received his BSc and MSc (first class) in Computer Science from University of Calcutta, India, followed by a PhD from the National Technological University, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

He is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Biological Engineering, University of the Republic (UdelaR), Uruguay and a categorized researcher (SNI – National System of Researchers, National Agency for Research and Innovation – ANII) in Uruguay.

Dr. Chatterjee’s research areas include Artificial Intelligence applied to healthcare, medical informatics, Internet of Things (IoT), and Decision Support Systems.

He is an Associate Editor of the Internet of Things journal (Elsevier), in addition to serving as member of editorial boards of international journals and several IEEE conferences. Also, he has delivered invited talks at reputed institutions like University of Rome II (Italy), Indian Institute of Science (IISc Bangalore, India) and also at international conferences like IoT Week Geneva (Switzerland), SICC Rome (Italy), EULAC-PerMed Summer School Madrid (Spain), TEDx UTN, and ExpoInternet LatinoAmerica (Argentina).


Parag Chatterjee recibió su Licenciatura y Maestría (primera clase) en Ciencias de la Computación (Computer Science) de la Universidad de Calcuta, India, y doctorado en la Universidad Tecnológica Nacional, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Es profesor asistente del Departamento de Ingeniería Biológica de la Universidad de la República (UdelaR), Uruguay e investigador categorizado (SNI – Sistema Nacional de Investigadores, Agencia Nacional de Investigación e Innovación – ANII) en Uruguay.

Las áreas de investigación del Dr. Chatterjee incluyen inteligencia artificial aplicada a la salud, informática médica, Internet de las cosas (IoT) y sistemas de soporte de decisiones.

Es editor asociado de la revista Internet of Things (Elsevier), además de servir como miembro de los consejos editoriales de revistas internacionales y varios congresos de IEEE. Además, ha impartido charlas invitadas en instituciones de renombre como la Universidad de Roma II (Italia), el Instituto Indio de Ciencias (IISc Bangalore, India) y también en conferencias internacionales como IoT Week Ginebra (Suiza), SICC Roma (Italia), EULAC -PerMed Summer School Madrid (España), TEDx UTN, y ExpoInternet LatinoAmerica (Argentina).
